Hello everyone!

We have successfully completed the first week of our Erasmus mobility. We arrived on Sunday and were warmly welcomed by our host families, who even prepared banners for us.

The very next day, we started our adventure with a trip to the city of Cologne. We walked through the city centre, admired the majestic Cologne Cathedral, and climbed its tower, where we had an amazing view of the whole city. The 500 stairs were quite challenging, but the view was definitely worth it :) After all those stairs, we rewarded ourselves with something sweet at the Lindt Chocolate Museum. There, we learned about the process of making chocolate from its very beginnings in the rainforest all the way to the final product. We also discovered more about the impact of chocolate production on the environment. We really enjoyed this trip.

The next day, we entered the gates of IGS Osnabrück for the first time. We received a warm welcome and a tour of the school. It is much bigger than our school back home :) We experienced many interesting lessons in both English and German. We attended classes in the 5th, 9th, 11th, and 12th grades. We got to know a different education system and slowly started getting used to the differences.

During the week, we also visited the biggest event in the city called Maiwoche, where we experienced the true German atmosphere, full of music, food, and people enjoying the festival together.

After a busy school week full of new information and experiences, we were rewarded with a trip to the second-largest city in Germany — Hamburg. Once again, we explored German landmarks and culture. During our visit, there was also a festival taking place in the city, which made the atmosphere even more exciting. We finished the week with trips and activities together with our host families. So far, we evaluate our first week in Germany very positively :) Our host families take great care of us, and we are very grateful for everything they do for us
